Credit cards are big business and it's certainly possible to make money selling credit cards, though it should be understood that this is a very competitive market. However, there are always ways to exploit even the most competitive market.

The best way to make money selling credit cards is to be an affiliate for a credit card company online and promote their service. You will get paid a commission whenever you get someone to take out a credit card, or even when they just fill out an application for a credit card.

1. Sign up to one or more of the credit card companies that have affiliate programs. Associate Programs is one website where you can find information about the various companies and affiliate networks and what they will pay in affiliate commissions.

2. Research all you can about credit cards, how they work and what checks are commonly done when someone applies for a credit card. You will need this information as you will be writing web pages for your affiliate website, as well as writing articles to promote it.

3. Do keyword research to find the best keywords for your affiliate website that will promote the credit card affiliate programs. You will need at least five good keywords that you have a chance of dominating. Use the free Google keyword tool.

For example, the keyword "creditcard apply" (with "creditcard" as one word) is searched for over 700 times a day and has only 21,000 competing pages. It gets better. When you perform an intitle search - the number of websites that use this keyword in the HTML document title - there are less than 300. More than 700 people are using this keyword every day to find out how to apply for credit cards and practically no one is telling them. You could tell them!

4. Write the web pages for your website. Each page should be at least 400 words in length, but no more than 600 words. Use the keywords you researched throughout the web page, but no more than around once every 100 words. Use the keyword for each page once in the page title too.

Your pages should be informative. Each page should be on a different, but closely related subject to do with credit cards. Don't try to sell anything! Give the visitors information. Be useful and include the occasional link by way of providing further information. The links you provide will be your affiliate links. When a visitor takes out a credit card through your affiliate link, you will be paid a commission.

5. You need to market and promote your website as heavily as you can. There are many ways to do this, but the many free methods work well, so you don't need to pay to promote your website.

You can use article marketing which has always worked extremely well. Write an article a day and submit the article to each free article directory you can find. Do this daily for at least a month. The resource box at the end of the article will have a link pointing back to your website.

In time your website will gain in search engine rankings, but only if you relentlessly promote and market it. That's the key if you want to make money selling credit cards.
